OK, all you Farmall experts, I cleaned and removed all paint, rust off Shawns SC hood. Where as I noticed the bends on the hood are not good clean bends, seems to be ripples running along above and below main bend on both sides. Is this standard on all or most hoods?? And should I remove these or leave them alone?...Thanks

The radius of the top edges of the hood should be nice and curved with no sharpness to them. No ripples. Some patient work with a body hammer and dolly might get it close but you'll probably have to finish it off with body putty and sanding to get the smooth radius back. Good luck.

Jay, hood has clean radius, just has these non-distinct creases above and below the clean radius.

Looks like I will be doing some more body work. Already fixed grill, as it looked like front of tractor was used to stop it rather than brakes....As soon as I get my main computor up and running again, I will post pictures of before and after....Thanks

Jay, went out and compaired the hood radius to grill. Looks like I need to put radiator and grill and tank back on tractor temp, so I can be sure the hood radius is correct.

Removed some of the ripples just above the radius bend on hood. Also going to have to replace some sheet metel around exhaust hole, had some rust and metel got ate away.

I guess I'd have to see a picture. That always clears things up. My Super C has nice bumps and ripples to work with. The grille was beyond repair so I bought a different one that was workable and have that about ready to paint. The gauge of sheet metal used on the A,B,C's was just too high to expect them to withstand much abuse. Makes it much more rewarding though, when you can bring one back to life looking straight and clean. Good luck. Jay
