I have a farmall 400 and the TA is sliping do i have to break the tractor in half to put a new TA clutch in

Make sure its adjusted acording to the manual. Then check Hytran as sugested. Does it whine when you pull it back? When the overrunning clutch was bad in my 300 it would whine like a child in the candy isle at first then go in. I can sell you a rebuild kit for that if you are interested. Alot cheaper than a unit or I can sell you a rebuilt unit also. JON

If you are not running IH Hy-Tran or equivalant, the oil can prevent the rollers from riding up the ramp and thereby locking the TA. That means slippage.
