Tractor was baling hay a couple of wks ago, so it works, but started missing. It has 12volt system. Gas engine with coil ignition. Prev owner replaced plugs, wires, dist cap, rotor, condenser, points. Old points badly worn, but engine ran well. Installed new points kit and THINK I got the timing right, but she won't start.

I've been told to get #1 (front of engine???)to have full gap at TDC, gap at .020. Does that sound about right?

Am novice tractor tech...so any advice appreciated. Yeah, I know it's no tractor for a greenie!

Thanks from deepest, darkest Idaho

Steve

Have you checked the gas? There usually is a small screen above the sediment bulb that can plug up.

You can still be 180 degrees off with the distributer.... unusuall, but with all the changing of wires,etc.,...

With all the engine not starting, (flooding), try as new set of plugs. Good luck
