I have located a 234 3 cyl diesel very low hours yard tractor. I can't seem to find this tractor in any data resource. Was it still made by IH or ??? Are they any good or a bad one. Thanks. Darald

I bought a 234 4WD brand new in 1987. I have had very little trouble with it but only 280 hours on it. All parts I have ever needed are readily available from IH. Really a sweet little tractor and I bought an IH loader (5QA) brand new for it and it handles the loader well. Also have a 3pt 5' angle blade and woods RM59 finish mower and 5' speed mover and posthole digger. It works all of these well. You can power it out but you can do that with anything and just need to use commmon sense. As far as HP is concerned, it was 18 instead of the 15.2 you mentioned.
That is one great snow tractor for driveways, etc. in Oklahoma naturally!

Hi Darald,

I show in 1984 Mitsubisihi made the 3cyl diesel for the Model 234 and was rated at 15.2hp.

I personaly have no experience with this engine.

I've got one I inherited from my Dad when he passed away. The motor is Japanee made - don't know about the rest of the tractor. It was the smallest of a series of 3 tractors. I thought they were made in the 70's. There is an IT manual available for it. I have a rotiller and mower for the 3 pt hitch for mine. I haven't any problems with it but I don't know what will happen if I ever need parts.
