I went to a tractor pull earlier this evening and I had my shift lever jam on me. After removal I realized that the pin wiggled out due to vibration. Also the end piece on the shifter lever is wore very badly, can anyone tell me about how wide the end of the lever should be. I would appreciate the info. very much. Thanks

You can get the pin and plugs from Marks Parts

I bought new pins for our "M" last year from my local friendly Case/IH/NH Dealer. They were about 10 bucks each.

Here is what it should look like. It was a solid pin. if the hole is worn drill it out to 1/2 inch and make a new pin or you can use a bolt with nut.

Also what type of pin is used to hold the shift lever in place. Is it a spring pin or a solid pin. My tractor has been messed with and what was in there was not correct. It had a solid pin with two lock washers as bushings holding the pin in place.

Original equipment is a solid plain shaft floating between two soft plugs.
