Regular ever have a temp gauge?

I picked up a nice, brass, bolt on temp gauge(mounts like the oil pressure gauge). I think it would look really spiffy on the '27 with the matching oil gauge. Questions...did the Regular ever carry a temp gauge? if so where did it mount? If it did not, did the F-20?
The number on the one I have is 37071D.

Thanks, guys.
Kevin

That gauge sounds like the number for an f-12.
The F-20s that had a gauge also had a different rear tank support made of flat steel instead of cast iron. You can't use the F-20 tank support because the regular's tank is smaller. The regulars cast iron tank bracket wont lend itself real well to mounting the gauge. The temp gauges weren't available on the F-20 till around 1937. If it were me, I'd sell it to someone that needs one for an F-12.

The temp guage on F-20 (or any thermosiphon cooling system) hooked up in the lower water inlet doesn't do much unless the coolant is too low and it quits circulating. Never saw the one on our C come off cold except once when the water got too low and quit circulating, thenit got hot down there too. Theinlet coolant is most always cool, unkless you have shutters on the radiator and close them up. By the way, when the C got hot it was hot enough to burn the gasket on the valve cover! Iwould lioke to put a guage onmy cub, but I want to put it in the outlet from engine to radiator.

The later F20s used a temp gauge. The sender treads into the engine water inlet elbow. I don't know why you couldn't put one on a Regular.
The gauge itself would mount on the rear fuel tank support.

So, I'd need to find a mounting bracket, plus I'd have to change the water inlet elbow, right? 'Cause the elbow I have is not threaded for a sending unit(mercury filled bulb). Sounds like a project for later on, like when I find a lighting unit. Or maybe I'll just put it on the F12, it's already set up for it.
