yes i have done it for mowing. then set the rear tread so its just inside the mower cut. works great for quick turns around trees ect. just use the steering shaft and u-joint for a B.

Consensus on this board seems to be that a BN with the left axle shorted to A style is dangerously unstable. There has been more than one picture posted here of such tractors that were bottom side up. What you are considering starts from a different point but ends up in pretty well the same place.

And I think you will find one of the 4 bolt holes will be threaded in both castings. And you will find the Super A steering shaft is at the wrong angle for the B and you can't just use the B support because the Super A support is part of the instrument panel. And there may be some other complication I'm not thinking of right noew.

And besides, why would you want to do it in the first place?

There is a u joint in the B steering shaft on a B so it will work just fine. You may have to make the shaft out of the steering sector a little longer because of the HYD pump.
A BN is just like a B but the rear axle"s are 8 inch"s narrower total width.

The universal shaft doesn't solve the problem. The problem is that the center of the B universal joint and the position of the input shaft on the A steering gear are in different places by several inches. I am sure you could jack-leg it together but the bushing in the steering shaft support would be under constant strain.

It will bolt on but you need to do a little work to the grill so it will fit right. And the steering shaft will be real close to the pump for the Hyd.
