Got out midafternoon and it seems all i want to do is rest. But it is sure good to be home. Thanks so much everyone for all the cards, letters, gifts, etc, and words of encouragement. I'll try to check in every day but it is going to take a while to get back up to speed.

Reading this board without your generous input makes it something much less than what it was. We will only order up light tractor parts from you until you are well healed! As mentioned many times previous, it's good to see you back.
Get well soon.
Curtis

I'm glad you're back. Bet the cows are, too.
Men our age have have a tendency to try to prove they can still do what they always could. We can't. Take it easy, do what you're told, eh?

Isn't the side of the hog where they get the bacon? Yeah, mine feels like it is being "cured" on the hoof. But yeah, Im getting stronger. Was up at 3 am and found nearly 100 new emails, Of course most of it was junk and I got through it in a hour and went back to bed. Things will get back to normal shortly,, a neighbor is doing some tractor work and other friends stop to visit and fix lunch for me. I did take a walk up to the gate last night. It's only a couple hundred yards but took nearly 45 minutes. I guess if I go for a walk I better start early in the day or it might get dark on me!

Glad to hear from you again. Sigh of relief. Hope you'll have a full recovery. When someone is in good health, he/she has MANY wishes, but when he/she is ill, there is only ONE wish... to get better. BTDT. Hendrik

Ok, Cowman, here are your orders:

No pushing, no pulling, no straining...
mild exercise such as walking is ok...that is it...

It takes 6 weeks... Glad you are home.

Howard:

Welcome home. I hope things are doing well out there in dry country. Heal up, and take it slow, the cows need someone to feed them this winter.

Here's a couple of pics to show how my summer has been going.

The boards are a feed bunk (some assembly required) others are daughters and Dad.

Second Pic is heifers I bought back in late May, they have put on about 100# by now.
You can tell by the background it has been awhile, no crop on the hill in the back!

Glad you are back -- Only significant (not as significant as yours!) surgery I have had is for a dislocated shoulder, and 4 years ago prostate. It just takes a while to get up to speed. I'm sure you'll be fine.
