My farmal super c has a little smoke come out of the oil fill tube once in a while.Any help on this would be great! Thanks Ch.

I changed to 20W50 and it helped a lot. If you are using straight 30W, it could be time for rings and valves.

That is called blow by and is some water vapor and gasses that go by the rings. A small amount of this is normal and increases when the engine is under load.This helps to get rid of condens ed moisture from the crankcase. OIl fill cap has screen in it and should be washed in kerosene or a similar solvent and then a few drops of oil put on the screen. Also run the tractor under load or until it warms up good to get rid of moisture.

The oil filler cap on a Super C is the crankcase breather. Any blow-by from the pistons comes out there. This is normal unless it is excessive. It will usually be more when the engine is loaded more. Roger
