Just talked to Howard. Had been a pretty rough couple of days but it looks like they got it all--the tumor and the kidney and the doctor said it looked good--keep our fingers crossed. He was the same Howard--upbeat and still hanging in there. Said he appreciated all the thoughts, messages, and our genuine concern. He looks forward to getting back with the routine. Just wanted to let everyone know he was on the mend! More to follow! Steve

For those of you that haven't met Howard, here's a picture of him at our dinner at the Outback during the Lebanon Red Power Roundup in Lebanon Tennessee. Hope this darn thing posts! Only thing missing is his hat! But the red gives him away!

Thanks for the update Steve. I've been thinking about him too, even though, like alot of others here, I've not yet had the pleasure of meeting him in person. Wish I was just a bit closer so I could run down and bale that hay for him that he was talking about knocking down before he went in.....wonder if anyone in his immediate area reads this forum that might want to set up a little informal tractor day and get that done for him????

Ron,

Howard did get the baling done. Just got off the phone with him but your idea sure was a good one. Heck, if it would have helped, I would have signed out on leave and flown out there to lend a hand. Been a long time since I put up hay, but probably have one good day left in me! Will keep everyone in the net on his status as I try to call him in the evening. Would like to meet everyone of the guys on here some day--a good bunch of folks!

Steve

I have a card ready to mail in the morning, if he is out of the Hospital by the time it gets there I hope they forward them like they do here.
Jim

Thanks for the update. While I've never met him, Howard has always been a source of common-sense advice and general encouragement to everyone whose path he's crossed on these boards...and I'd bet he's the same in real life as well.

We wish him a complete and speedy recovery.

So true Rusty. Guess its a good thing Howard fell (not really)--but at least the by-product was finding that tumor when they did the MRI. Sometimes a power bigger than all of us steps in to take care of things. Just glad they got it when they did! Steve

Steve;
Thanks for the update. I was curious about the chain of events leading up to this episode.
I just mailed a note to him this afternoon. Never met the gentleman; but he certainly is someone that I would like to.
