I put new cork gasket in my fuel bowl and it still leaks! I have tried soaking them first, using permatex and cleaning everything good. Still have drips. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

I found the screen in mine was to big, the gasket
wouldn't seal on the screen.

They get that way when they've been overtightened. Like Allan, I have had luck tightening some of them with pliers. You've got nothing to lose by trying that. Like the other guys say, the proper fix would be to get a whole new assembley. Do not use permatex. No matter what the directions say it will stand up to, it will eventually find it's way into your carb.

A complete new sediment bowl assembly can be bought for around $25 or less, doesn't make much sense to try fixing the old one.

Get a rubber one and better take the assy off the tank to make sure that ut has not been tightened too much that it is sprung and a new gasket cannot seal one that has been over tightned. The strainer should fit in the groove of the glass bowl then the rubber gasket.

If your sediment bowl has a screen to filter out sediment, check to see if the screen is on top or on the bottem side of the cork. it made a difference in my experiences.

I can never make 'em stop leaking unless I tighten the darned things with a pair of pliers.

Cinch it til it bellers.

Some are easy and some are hard but the new ones are cheap and it's almost guaranteed yours is not original.
