New hood for an H? From an M?

I have a '46 H that has a pretty banged up hood. I don't know if a body shop would be able to restore it to perfection for less than I would be able to get a replacement, so I'm exploring my options. First of all, my '46 wasn't an X1, so it has a couple of holes that I have no idea what they are used for. Maybe I don't need them now?

- Would a hood from an M work on an H? (I'm pretty sure no, but I thought I woudl ask)

- Are there manufacturers that make new hoods for these antique tractors?

Mike- is there any kind of auto-body trade school close to where you are? Any kind of high school or college that teaches body work? If so, maybe you could get a student to repair your hood as a class project. Just an idea....

Mike, the kerosene and distillate hoods would have only one extra hole in them. This is where the filler neck for the gasoline starting tank was located. The only other two holes are for the exhaust and the air intake. Any other holes would have been put there by a previous owner for who knows what.

Yep H hoods are easy to find, I know I have to spare ones laying around, LOL. But a good body shop can also do things that you would not believe but again you also pay the price to have it done

extra holes in the rear of the hood were for starter tanks. Don't think the H and M have the same hood.

now as far as replacement, salvaged originals are advertised commonly enough, even on this website in the Classified Ads.
