I found a 1941 Farmall AV for sale on ebay for $3250. They say EXTREMLY RARE. Is this ture? My brother in-law and I just bought 10 Farmalls and in the bunch is 2 old AV's. Not sure of the year's yet because we haven't had time to go pick them up. How many years did they make AV's?
Thanks,

Joe: Saying an AV is rare, kind of similar to saying overweight men over 60 are rare.

If I owned a tractor that truly was "extremely rare", I definately would not be selling it on eBay. All I would need do is let the word out and the buyers would come to me.

Made 3603 from 1941-early 1948. The year does not matter. So, I wouldn't call it rare. It may be worth $3250 if it has been correctly restored. If just a run of the mill used tractor, $2-$400 more than a plain A, which might sell for $1000-$2000 in good condition. The AV is nothing special, perhaps a little unusual as the others said.

I think "extremely rare" would be quite an exaggeration. A much more accurate term might be "a little uncommon".
While I do not know how many were produced, they were made from the early 40's right on through the end of Super A production in 1954, then on through the 100, 130 and 140 nomenclature (same basic tractor), which is well up into the 1970's.

Opps, the seller had a typo, it's a 1947. Is it still extreamly rare?

No, I wouldn't give it a rare mark especially if in a southern state. I have ssen a lot of them for sale recently.
