Might take a try or two to get the float level right. Put a new needle & seat in our SC & it blew black smoke out the stack. Set the float down a fraction at a time until it was right.

Rusty, what do you consider to be a good kit and from whom? Getting ready to rebuild the Zenith on my 41 A.

If you want a complete kit, new throttle shaft, etc, go to your Case-IH dealer. If you need just a basic kit with gaskets and needle valve and seat, try your local N.A.P.A. auto parts. Both of these places will include a very detailed set of instructions.

About the only setting it has is the float and idle, unless you have a distillate or kerosene carb. Do what the others say and get a good IH kit. Float setting varies according to the carb. If you are rebuilding the whole tractor, or even part of it, get the Operator's, Parts, and Service manuals from Binder Books.

Rusty is right the cheap kits aren't worth the money you pay for them. The good kits will have all the parts other then float and some other parts that aren't need most of the time. But will have good instructions on have to do it all. I use walker kits and most have enough extra parts to be able to open up more then one carb such as gaskets etc

If you buy a GOOD quality rebuild kit it will come with a very detailed set of instructions that will more or less walk you through the entire procedure, including the pre-settings. I am talking about a GOOD quality kit, not the kits that you can order online or pick up at your local farm store.
