Are Super M's 6 volt or 12? I'm assuming there 12 volt, but no battery, so i'm not sure.. Is it positive ground? Thanks

Thanks guys. Don't worry, i'm not a fan of 12 volt conversions either.. I just wanted to make sure it was a 6 volt positive ground. Thanks.

Soldner, Im NOT a fan of 6 to 12 conversions or alternators (especially on smaller tractors but the M could be the exception) Sooooo ooooo oo to start a Super M (if it was indeed originally 6 volts??) and especially at cold temperatures using a 6 volt battery, Id suggest the biggest heaviest highest amp/hr and CCA rated battery that physicsally fits plus the use of 00 Gauge battery n starter n ground cables and have the ignition and carb all in tip top shape.

Super M was 6v positive ground, although you can put a 12v in, negative ground, if you need a generator too. An alternator is just alternating generator, by the way.

Dad's '53 SM-LPG was 6V, had to have the biggest 6V made to turn it over as it had lots of compression. Like all letter series, it was + ground. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

I recently had my factory generator rebuilt to 12v along with a new 12v regulator. Converted my tractor from 6v +/ground to 12v -/ground. You can't tell except for the 12 Delco battery :-)
