Hi all, hope you having a good summer. I have a Kuhn 3 pt mower, disc only that I have had for 3 years. I change the blades twice a year. The last time I ran it at night mowing I had some wierd sounds and it did not cut well. Then, last night, I ran it in tall grass, first cut. My belts were smoking, and she hated to cut. It was 9:30 pm and the dew had fallen. Today, I tried to finsh, same probelm. The the belts melted and that was it. I took it apart, found grass wrapped around the blade pucks and it was hard to turn the pucks. I cleaned all, lubed and it seems better, the bar oil is full and fine.

Do you think mowing at night is not good, having the wet grass wrapping. Anyone has one of these, I like the mower and this is the first time this has happend. Thanks in advance.

PS: Hey Kuhns, how are ya ?

I thought maybe someone with a kuhn mower would answer. Mine was a lely,(well it said caseIH) I had it for several years, now, I have a vermeer. It should cut day or night wet or dry, but if the belts get wet they will slip, they need to be tight, like your manual shows but they may still slip when wet.
