The best thing I have found is (Oven-Cleaner) and also the cheapest. I buy it at the Dollar Store. Do not breath it though as it is very hard on the lungs. I foam it on and hose it off. It works best on a warm engine even if only heated by the Sun. Do not let it come in contact with aluminum parts, Mag, Number Tags, Etc.

Elbow grease (putty knife, wire brush, pocket knife)
Kerosene
Degreaser (I like Simple Green)
Water

I ues kerosene through a blowgun and it takes off a lot of junk. If you run the Simplegreen through a blowgun wear a respirator or it will make you sick.

Buy some degreaser from Home Depot and apply it to the tractor's surface. They have pressure washer's for rent too. Wear a face shield for eye protection. Hal
