That may be your no oil pressure problem if that pickup screen is tilting away from the oil level in the pan. Should be a snug fit into the pump
as Keith mentioned. Hal

R Fink, I don't see anything in the parts manual of a float stop. It appears to me that it is a force fit (snug) almost a press fit...HTH

It is not a force fit. the float moves up and down freely. The float is held in place by a cotter key. It is not all that appartent in the illustration, but there are two "ears" on the float that contact the pump body to limit up and down travel.

I have 2, 123 pumps and both have a stop to keep the pump from going to high or to low. The stop is made on the pick up. Also the pick up is retained by a cotter pin. The stop and the cotter pin hole kin both be seen in your pix. Is mine correct I dunno, the one in my 100 is the same rebuild a little over a year ago. Only thing I have noticed is it takes 5 sec. Or so for pressure to build up on cold start, other than that no problems and good O/P. Interesting Cuzz I would have thought the pick up would have been secured to the pump body and why these swing I dunno. BTW the pick ups will swing up and down in a 6” till it hit’s the stop on the tube.. I have owned the 100 for over 15 years and no O/P problems. I have a parts engine and its that way so assumed that wuz the way they were made.

It is supposed to float, not stay stationary. The tube of the screen is inserted into the pump and a cotter pin keeps it from coming out. There are 2 small fingers on the tube that hit the pump cover to limit the travel of the screen. maybe your 2 fingers are broken off?
