I got a oil pan gasket for a Farmall H. I was wondering if it will work on the M at all. Want to change oil in the M and I got a feeling that there is going to be some crap in the oil pan. Also if that gasket don't work can I use silicone it says gasket maker. Also what kind of oil do you put in the oil bath. Thanks

Bates Equipment should have a gasket for around $10 + shipping.

I'd get the correct gasket for the M oil pan. Be careful to put the bolts back in the same holes they came out of, some may be different length. Also don't over tighten them. Use the same oil in the air cleaner as you use in the engine (10W30 for example).

No H and M are not the same size block and NO do not use Guppy GOO on anything on and engine as it can get down into the oil pan and plug the screen on the pick up. Don't be so cheap go buy the correct gskt for the job at hand.
