Getting close to done on the 41 Farmall B restoration. I'd like to add some contrast to a few bolt heads without too much emphasis. For example the original bolts for the rear rims/hubs. What do you guys do? I can't see painting them silver, then scuffing them up when I torque the bolt. Should i wire wheel them to bare metal, then clear coat? Any advise?
Thanks
DJL

I depends on what you prefer. I like to paint them like IH did years ago. They covered the steering wheel, the distributor cap and wires, the gauges. the starter tag. serial numer tag, and painted every thing else.

A buddy of mine who does restorations lives near a large city. He gathers up all the original bolts and nuts, etc., and takes them to a place that re does them with cadmium plating. IE, "cad" plating as he calls it. He says it is cheap, cheap, cheap to have done and is very durable compared to silver spray paint. They look like new hardware when he gets them back. mike
