How do you get the round plates off the brake shaft to replace the seals? Tranny oil is leaking from around splinned brake shaft. They are the round steel plates mated to the cast iron of the tractor. Thanks for your know how! 1952 Super C

Thanks Guys! I don't like to start prying on stuff till I am sure it's OK to do it. Don't know what I'd do without you all!

I resealed mine a couple years ago. Super c has disk brakes. After taking out the bolts, the cover, disks and actuater come off . the housing that has the seal is in the case fairly tight with an o ring seal around the outside. you can get it out by driving small screwdrivers on opposite sides then use pry bars. Replace the seal and o ring and reassemble.( hope I didn"t forget something)

Locate the small notches on the plate where it touches the transmission housing, insert a pry bar & have at it. There is an o-ring that makes it hard to remove.

Not sure I know what you mean. Remove the cover, band and associated parts and drum, then carefully pry or dig or pull the seal out. There is nothing else other than washers and dust seals to remove.
