I am working on restoring 1951 Framall C. The other day took out the light switch and it seems to turn and be okay. Except there is one problem. on the back of the switch there was a coil of wire that the insulation fill off ot and upon close examination the coil is broke. It is held on by two screws and looks like it could be replaced. I presime this is some time of resistor. Can I buy just the coil for the light switch or do I need to look ate replacing the whole switch. If parts are available wher do I obtain them.

Teh coil would be a resister that is switched in series with the lights for the dim setting. I beleive OEM sells the repalcements, or if you aren't worried aobut the dim setting, just remove it.

Just a thought, but what is the possibility of replacing that broken resistor with something from Radio Shack?
