I managed to get the entire spindle assembly off, after shearing the spindle shaft. Looks like it sheared just below the sleeve. How does that darn spindle come off? It's driving me crazy. I haven't got the blade offyet. I still can't tell if it is insterted from the top or bottom. Manual sayis it's pressed in, figured I cound hammer it out, with a good bar, if I knew which direction to push. I also need to know what the bold head size is for the blade bolt.

Hal, thanks a lot for all of your help! I still ow you pictures of my final-drive bracket, for the mower.
I managed to get the spindle apart last night. The lower bearing fell apart as I reove it. After cleaning everything the rest looks good. I endedd up buying a new spindle, upper and lower seals and a lower bearing and race. Total cost was less that $50. The upper bearing looks great. Not too bad considering I'm still under half the cost of a full spindle assembly.

Thanks Hal, your input has helped me a lot with this mower. I still owe you pictures of my repaired final-drive bracket. I managed to get the Prindle out, it just took a firm blow to get it broke loose. Unfortunatly, after disassembly, I found that the lower bearing is shot. It fell apart, when I removed the spindle. At least the bearing raceways in the housing look great.

I think you should contact this company at www.cngco.com/woodspt.html or email them at info@cngco.com for parts or call them at 608-455-2411. You should use an impact air wrench to get the nut off the blade. C&G can tell you what needs to done. You may need to have the spindle pressed out at your local auto machine shop. They will know the size of the bolt too.
Hal
