Off and on I buy a good number of tractors and I don't care what color they are. I fix the ones that can be fixed and part out the ones that can't be fixed. About all it does is keep enough money comeing in to keep doing it and maybe buy a case of beer once in a while. But here lately with the gas prices like they are I haven't even been selling many parts. But I also haven't been posting many ads either. Guess maybe I should LOL.

I try to buy stuck or at least non-running tractors with flat tires. But I figure I gotta at least double my original investment before I ever break even. It ain't no get rich deal but it's a job. Allis parts are always hot. Deere stuff sells good but you have to pay more for it. I specialize mostly in IH and still sell a lot of F20 and Regular parts but there ain't no money in it. I just do it to help out.

I like horse trading...something that works pretty good is more profitable and less time consuming than parting it out. I agree that the broken ones should be parted out.

I understand profit, But I believe there is better planning toward the future, and economics, in keeping running tractors running, and broken tractors recycled as parts. JimN

there is a problem with that discussed many times here. If is was not for good running tractors for parts you would not be able to keep the old ones that peoplke fix up going with good parts and running motors and such. I my self would rather pay a little more for a part that I knew came form a good running tractor without problems. JON

A ethical person (you) would be very careful to sell only the parts that are in tollerance and useable, (or a core with that stipulation) so I see no issue with parts wherever they comefrom, running, or broken tractors. JimN
