I own a 300 ute and have never personally plowed on my own. We are going to straight row rasberry plants and do some small food plots. Which is better a 3 pt plow or a trailer plow with hand levers. Is there any difference on how hard they both pull? Is on easier on the tractor, (older 300)? We have heavy soil and so far this year not a ton of rain. Hope that will change soon. HI The 300 utility never would plow right.
We had an IH dealer close buy he had the reputation for setting up plows and making anything plow well. When it came to the 300 utility he gave up and said that these tractors won't plow. We hhad one growing up and tried 3 point and fast hitch plows. None would plow right

If you have 2 point, get a fast hitch 2 bottom 14 inch. Your 300 will like it and do an excellent job. A 3 bottom is a bit much for our soil type around here on our 300 ute.

Terry
I have a 300 Farmall that I have never plowed with either. I know it's not quite the same, but can't be too much difference. I looked long and hard for a fast hitch plow and only found one and some one wanted it much more than I did. I finally ended up with a pull type trip plow. I haven't used it yet, but I recall in my younger years that we had a Case pull type that worked great. I agree that the 2-14's would be preferable to the 3-14's. Also I tried to stay away from trying to get a 3 point plow to work with your fast hitch. There are even more expensive, though available, but from what I saw of my neighbors John Deere it didn't plow worth a lick.

If your 300 has fast hitch then that is the plow that i would be on the look out for , it will handel 3x14 's but if ya could find a 2x14 for what your doing it would be fine as for a trailer plow it would pull it but you would have to add weight to the tractor as you will not get any draft off a trailer plow .
