Dang exciting too. Watching the last 2 minutes of that auction was like watching a horse race.
His wife came through with 9 seconds left to beat out the other guy.
Congratulations Mike. Now you can really start to exercise your checkbook.

The best way to eBay is to snipe auctions...

Wait until the last 30 seconds or 1 minute and enter your highest max bid. If you don't get it, wait for the next one.

I've won a lot of stuff for 1/2 what I thought it would cost that way.

The problem was the time the auction ended. 2pm on a Monday. I can't access ebay from work, so the wife had to do her best.

You should get her some flowers for trying so hard. Mine excepts the accumulation of tractors, vehicles, tools and the like around the place, but she's not about to go out of her way to add to it.

uhhh, I'm afraid you are wrong partner. Wife is telling me we got outbid at the very end.

And I don't think she was doing the autobidding correctly. Every time she tried to bid, then bump up the auto bid, it would jump the price up to the autobid range! Thats how the price jumped up so dang fast!

Oh well. The search continues. :*(

people gotta learn to bid early and bid high. Too many sales are lost because the guy thinks he is gonna wait and get a bargain. I always bid my max early on and then if I loose it in the end all I can say is "Oh well, That's more than I wanted to pay" Granted, maybe only a dollar more but ya gotta quit somewhere.

Yes, I figured that you was not the winning bidder, just from what you said you had her bid. I was watching it also, boy that H has a huge pair of boots on the back of it.

I always bid the last 25-30 sec..have the bid all set up, about 35 - 40 dollars..... and alwaws in un even numbers..... like $676.52.....most people will bid in $5 bids.....even if he would hit the $676 or $676.50.....the 2 cents gives it to you.....

Used to but guns for my collection on auctions.....

Don

Sorry Mike, when you said you had the bid at $420 I figured you for beagleboys06. The price jumped up because the other guy's top bid was higher than hers. That EBay takes some practice. I don't think I was this excited the last time I bought a tractor.

Your handle is "old" and you got out of the Navy in 1980. That must make me "old, old, old" !!!

The handle has nothing to do with my age but it has to do with a pony I once had and its name was oldcoal so I just use part of that. I also has to do with how I learned what I know, I learned from people that where old and most have long since pasted on
