Please review my earlier postings:

thoughts with the magneto factor would be appreciated.

Sincerely,

The coil could over heat in a mag and decay it might not get as hot as a bat powered coil, but it can fail. If the engine is running rough, (and not just powering down) it might be the bushings in the mag getting loose. Wiggle the rotor shaft side to side and check for radial play. if any, it needs to be rebuilt (see farmallmagneto.com for answers) JimN

Thanks for your insight. The engine runs as smooth as silk (no rough running) even as it is loosing power. 25 years ago I replaced the winding (coil?) inside the magneto only because the engine would die after 20 minutes of use with no noticeable loss of power. I think you are suggesting to change this part again. It would be great if I am good for another 25 years!
Thanks,
