My 1940 "A" has no casting date codes on any of the castings??? My other two A"s (1946 and 1944) have date codes on castings. Anyone else seen catings without date codes?

My early 1941 A FAA 45334 has late 1940 casting code on right front bottom of engine block 12*3*J and right front top of transmisson case 12*4*J seems that I have seen others but these 2 were allI saw with quick check. These numbers seem to supports CNKS and some others position that serial number breaks were on calender year and not fiscal year that I and some others thought as this tractor was only 3834 units after 1940 break and has Dec. 1940 castings. According to Guy Fay book average 1941 production was 3270 tractors.

Should have said 3270 1941 As/month average.

Chicago Tractor Works (the intertwined CTW seen on castings) really didn't put many date codes on before 1941.

To quote Guy Fay: "Early As and Bs have few casting codes, with only one code located on the right front of the engine block behind the magneto. Tractors built later into the 1940s, however, tend to have more casting codes." He says the H and M have more.
