Picture in Springfield, MO newpaper Mr and Mrs Millard Misemer of Springfield are going to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversey Aug 1,2006. Millard was the parts man at the old Siffermans IH dealership then IH Co. Dealer in Springfield. He was the best parts man I have ever seen, seldom did he use the book he would just go back in the bins and get what you wanted, then come out and wright the ticket, still without looking at the book. One time Dad and I had to buy a two point finger and it was $90 Dad said what makes that so high, Millard kind of laughed and pointed at the IH on it, and said that. I have a friend that was the Service Manager at the same place, he said when they would inventory Millard would sit at his desk and wright ocasionally checking a price, then go check the bins to see if he missed anything. Congratsulation Mr and Mrs Misemer.

Jim: I'll add my congratulations, especially to Mrs. Misemer. Can you imagine living with someone for 70 years, that remembered things that well.

I don't think that the War Dept would let it go on that long here , She keeps telling me that ONE OF THESE DAYS She is going to put me out of her missery.

Hugh -

I know what you're saying, my wife remembers everything and I've lived with her for 26 years now.

Here's an interesting article about people who are amazing experts in their field. Oddly, the memory feats they perform in one area (such as chess, music, or probably a parts counter) generally doesn't transfer to anything else in their lives.

Tom: I'm not going to read your link, my good wife of 41 years tells me I already have a very selective memory. When it comes to something I want to remember, like old tractors, etc. the sky is the limit, then I'll put the garbage in the trunk of the car, drive down our 400' driveway and take the garbage off to town for the day. Or like emptying the coffee maker and leaving it on.

I better quit, she's out of the shower and may want to add to this list if she sees it. If that happened it may jamb the YT system.

Hugh, I had been married 34 years and 8 months to the day when Alice passed away, and that seemed like a long time it just wasn't long enought.

It is a great find in life to come across a person willing to know and do their job. For them to have a successful career is a function of how well they get allong, and remember to meet the customer's needs. Thank you for your service to the trade, From all who buy parts for our Red tractors, and to your wife for putting up with you for all those years. JimN
