I thought some of you big red folks would be interested in what the problem turned out to be. Instead of a low compression problem (it is low), it seems that the new condenser that I put in the magneto was weak in addition to the one that I replaced. I dug out an old condenser from my pack rat box that worked when I took it out and I put it in the mag and hot diggidy dog, she put out a spark that would knock your socks off. Needless to say, I pulled the crank one time and she fired right up and runs great! It was a good lesson for me! Never believe new parts are always going to work! Thought you guys might want to know this for future reference. Sometimes, you just can't find your cap when it's sitting on you head!

With an ever increasing amount of replacement parts comong from China these days, the problem of brand new parts being defective will continue to grow. Maybe some day Chinal will understand the concept of quality control, but they sure don't understand it now.

That's the frustrating part. When you buy something new you expect it to work. I've been buying, and paying the price, most of my parts at the CIH dealer, and have had good luck. Problem I've had, was dealer selling me the wrong part. Oh, well, always happy to exchange for the right one.
