I have a 560 Farmall diesel and the fast hitch does not seem to go as high as the one on my 350, when wou look at the cylender mounts it seems the cylender on the 560 sets a little lower than the on the 350. Also when I put the hydra touch lever in the fully raised position it grumbles like it could be starved for oil or it has reached the top most position, yet the cylender does not apear to have gone a full stroke. I have an operators manual for this but it says nothing on this. Thanks in advance on any help I can get.

Tractor Vet tries to point out the best solution to a person's problem, & then how to do it. Usually at reasonable prices. Our 560 chattered when it was at the top of the stroke [ when fast hitch was up all the way], after overhauling the "differential gears" which control the fast hitch position. Turned out to be the small upper limit set screw which is at the lower end of the fast hitch quadrant. Turning this screw in a small amount would eliminate the chattering.

well if your going to tinker on this tractor then i would get and I T manual for it . Change hyd. oil and filter . Then set down and read over the hyd section and check and adjust everything by the book. also having a hyd. pressure gauge and testing the hyd. system pressure then you sorta know if the system is up to spec. or not . The only way to tell if the pump is putting out the correct flow is have it flow rated by someone that has the equipment for this . But with the gauge it will tell ya if the system is comming up on pressure and you may luck out and only have to replace a pressure reg. spring . Myself i like to flow rate the pump first and see if i have the flow and pressure before getting into the pressure reg. valve .

tractor vet it seems all of your replies to hyd questions is to get an IT junk manual and a a set of gages. I have a copy of the IH service and operators manual the hydraulics are strong and I feel this is an adjustment problem.I called to check on a manual on the fast hitch and the person I needed to talk to is out until Monday.

Well i have gotten along fine with I T manuals for many years And when working with hyd.'s it is real nice to know what the system is doing before ya start . Now i know that not everyone can afford a flow rater or the I H blue ribbion manuals . but your the one that asked and i was tryen to help and with out being there to put my hand on the problem and check adjustments then don't complain about FREE advice so if you have more then forty years twisten wrenchs and run a Ag. repair business for almost twenty years then i guess ya know it all .
