I need a straight answer because I have been getting conflicting info. I would like to step up to a little bigger tractor (the SA is handy, but we need a bit more power) and I would love to stay with the letter series, but I also would really like to have live pto. Can I find an H or M with live pto or do i need to look for a 300/350? or even later?

The Super M T/A was the first, and most 300's and 400's have live PTO.

There are M's and H's around with the M&W live PTO bu tthey ar ehard to find.

I get by very well without live PTO on most my tractors. I choose to bale with an M without even though I have two with plus a 300, 400, and 450.

I assume you have an "overrun" pto add-on if you are baling without live pto?

All the balers I"ve ever seen have their own over running clutch, so they work fine with non- live tractors.
The M&W clutch that Andy mentioned is an aftermarket add on that simulates live PTO by disengaging on of the drive wheels, thus stopping forward motion. even though it is still in gear. To change gears, you still have to depress the transmission clutch, which will stop your PTO. What are you wanting to do that requires LPTO? Don"t get me wrong- there are some things that are much easier with LPTO, but sometimes the M&W isn"t the answer. Just make sure you know what you want before you buy!
