I've gone through the WI historical society photos, Fay and Krauschaar's book and this forum and still don't have the info I need on exactly what is painted red, blue and black on the SC cultivator (fast hitch and front attach) that I have.

Here's what I think. The beam, attachment arms and hitch are red and then everything from the shank mount on down is blue except for the sweeps which I think were black. Is this right?

Thanks - Jay

Cutivator colors vary somewhat from tractor to tractor. Some are mostly red, others nearly all blue. The link gives the color of the rear mount fast hitch cultivator. I did not find the front section for your tractor, it might be in there somewhere, as the link contains a lot of info. I'm thinking that the frame was red, gangs blue and bars and shanks black -- but it's been several decades, more like half a century since I've seen a new culitivator.

Everything is red except the square toolbars and the clamps, which are blue. If your cultivator has a rear bow, it too was blue.

The shanks should be black and the duck feet were shellac dipped.

Even the wire that tied the small parts gunny sacks shut was dipped in black paint when the cultivator was originally delivered.
