I bought all the 3 point parts that were taken from a 656 and figured I would install them on my 706 gas, looking at the back of my tractor the plate that attaches below and around the pto looks to have a different bolt spacing. This 706 also has two different type pto shafts protruding from the back, the lower being the standard today. Anybody know if this will need to be removed? I haven't started tearing the 2point apart yet, doesn't look like much to take off. But wouldn't want to tear it all off if this 3 point assembly isn't going to fit. Thanks, Jim

Allan the second pic you posted looks like the back of my 706 but the parts I bought also look like the 3point parts on that tractor. Do you have any close up pics of that tractor where the pto shaft is and the underside where the drawbar plate bolts to the underside of the rear end. And if those two parts don't match my tractor will the link arms still work, so all I would need would be the back plate and lower drawbar plate. Thanks for the help.

Jim,

The rule of thumb is that parts "generally" (not always, however) interchange within the same chassis size of any given tractor.

656 (some would say 504) up thru the Hydro 86 and 706 up thru the 1466. The quickest way to identify which is which is by looking at the rear axles and wheels. Very distinctive differences in their builds.

I'm like the vet. I like the fast hitch and use my adapters when using the 3 point equipment.

Like Allen said , It ain't gonna work . As for me i will fight to keep my fast hitch and if i need to use three point stuff i have 2pt. to 3 pt adapters that work vary well . I was making them for awhile for people but for the time and material i was not chargen enough . They were built well enough that ya could use them on a 5 bottom plow . Myself i like the fast hitch when ya have something heavy and the hitch is on the ground slip in the fast hich draw bar and lift it off the ground can't do that with three point.

Jim,

It isn't gonna work. You are dealing on two different chassis sizes here. totally different animals and they don't inter-breed.
