Super A - Correct Red Color?

My '53 Super A had a right decent paint job on it when I found it. I assumed it was the correct color - and it may be.
However, I bought a spray can of the IH 2150 the other day to do a little touch up here and there, and the 2150 seems somewhat darker - makes the paint on the tractor look like it has a little orange hue to the red.
What is your opinion of the 2150 spray can paint as being the absolute correct color for my tractor?

I'd put the brightest red you could find. There's nothing nicer then a shiny red tractor. Good Luck,
Charles

The "correct" color is IH 1102B, that Case-IH does not have, I don't believe it can be mixed anymore, either. The previous color of the Super A and all letter series was IH 50, also not available from CIH, it crosses to PPG 70019/DuPont 7410, but you can't get it in spray cans. IH 2150/PPG 71310/DuPont 96766 does have an orange tint, at least the CIH and PPG versions do, also no spray cans. Versions by TSC and Van Sickle will not be correct, I am not sure the "correct" version exists anymore. I have my PPG dealer adjust the toners until I am satisfied with the color (for a whole tractor). Basically, your paint cannot be matched perfectly, no matter what it is. You might try the Van Sickle and TSC versions, you might get lucky, but I don't think so.

Forgot to mention, 2150 did not appear until 1961, it replaced 201, which replaced 1102B (I think) in 1958.

From what I have seen, the IH 2150 in spray can and in quarts are the same. Your tractor may have been painted with an automotive paint that was mixed a little different, or something like the Van Sickle paint that TSC and many other sell. The Van Sickle is pretty good paint, but does tend to get orangy with tiem and weater exposure.
