I have got a lot of information off this board thanks. My 230 was not running right missing on one cylinder. Number 3 had a fouled plug. I checked to see if plug was firing and it did. Next I did a compresson check 1-2-4 at 150 psi 3 at 60 psi.Next I pulled the valve cover and the 2 rods on the cam tappet to rocker arm were bent one was not even on the rocker arm on 3 cylinder. The valves are free so what would make them bend? Also can I just get 2 new rods or should pull the head and have the valves redone?

Tom Might be correct However because it has been running, there is less likely a problem that would require the head removal. I would move the valves to their full range of movement, and if they do not jamb, I would use an endgrain block of wood and pound the pushrods to straight. Chech them on a flat surface bu rolling them. Then put it back together and try it, by turning it through by hand with the plugs out. If it spins, put it together and start it. You might need a book and some time to get parts terms correct. The repair manual, and an owners manual are needed. JimN

Thanks for the info. I pulled the head and found nothing that would make them rods bend.Valves move freely as same as the other 6.Would it be a good idea to have the valves ground while the head is off?

Nothing happens without a reason. Something restricted the valves on this cylinder from opening to such an extent that it bent the push rods. I would remove the head and have it looked at.
