Hello Everyone! I just picked up an International Harvester Single-Acting hydraulic cylinder. It is 1 3/4" x 8" and by my book appears to be either IH#15246EAX or 365006R91. Can any of you tell me the time periods in which these cylinders were made? Also, in my book, this is the smallest diameter cylinder availible for an H. What would this have been used on? Also, are rebuild kits availible from Case IH or NAPA anymore.

Likely beginning in 1939, at least through the Super H and possibly Super M, maybe later. Used on front and rear mount cultivators, semi-mount plows, about anything that mounts on the tractor, front or rear. I don't know about rebuild kits. If all it needs are orings and seals, they are available about anywhere as they are generic.

Thank You! It needs seals and I believe I will replace the Piston Cup while I am in there to be safe. Also, does anyone know how these were painted originaly? Mine appears to have been completly red.

Small ones were for cultivators and anything light. They had bigger onrs for pickers and wheel discs. Some units used two of the small ones. You can use pump leathers for rebuilding from a well supplier. I just rebuilt two of them no seals just the leather on the piston.
