Hi,
Im putting decals on my uncles 1943 H and just wanted to make sure i had all of the correct ones. I have the Farmall and H ones for the hood, the pto shield , oil filter, oil level, gear shift, light switch, and the air cleaner decals. Does a '43 have any other decals?? Also where is the correct place to put the air cleaner decal on the air cleaner? Thank you.

YooperDeere,

The correct hood decal for your '43 H will read "McCormick-Deering Farmall". It sounds like you have all the decals. There is a black decal with a green cross-like symbol that goes on the rear of the tractor, on the transmission housing, just above the PTO shield that says "Safety First ..." It seems like there is also a black and white caution decal that goes on the gas tank (rear center), but I am out of town and don't have access to my tractor or my books right now. The decal on the air filter goes on the oil reservoir part (the lower part that detaches from the rest of the apparatus). It is centered between the pressed "Oil level" line. If I recall correctly, it is a tight fit.

Here are some pictures of my H

Tony

Ok sounds like i got the wrong set :-( My wife bought me a set at tractor supply company when she was on a trip. I got the wrong hood decal and dont have the safety first or caution decals. Oh well im not really looking for a show tractor and the tractor isnt even mine yet. As you can tell by my nick im not really a farmall guy and am quite stupid when it comes to them but i really like this H....its the tractor i learned to drive tractor on.

Yeah, I've seen those decals at the TSC. They're fine, but technically only for post 1949 tractors. I see plenty of pre-1949 tractors with the new decals on them, so yours won't be the only one! How'd you end up GREEN if you started out on RED?!?!

Well im not loosing any sleep over the decals. How did end up with green? I guess it was when my uncle gave me the 44 A free that was sitting next to the woods for yrs. Caught the green bug then and it never left me....Just finished my second tractor last week and im hooked!! But....i still will play with red ;-)
