I have a few IH wheel weights laying around that a neighbor would like to buy. I am wondering how much is a fair price to put on them? I have always been told a $1 a pound? But my next question is how much do they weigh? They are the IH halves. I have been told that 2 halves fit togeather to match the same size as the whole weights that will fit anything from an M up to the 86 series. Is this correct? is a $1 a pound too much to ask from a neighbor?

The two piece (4 pieces to make one whole weight on each wheel) weights are heavier. I think they are 200# per side. I would guess about 50-75$ per set (4 halves) around here. We used to buy the one piece 150# for 6.00-8.00 a piece at auctions and 10.00 a set for the 2 piece. Jake

I think the dollar pound rule comes from the suitcase front end weights so popular with the tractor pullers.

In 1996 we sold 6, 100 pound suitcase style front end weights for $600 at our farm sale.

I pay $10-$15 per full weight ring (150 lbs). Have seen them go for as much as $75 on eBay. Depends on who wants them and how bad.

Do a search in the photo ads and the classified ads and see what the price range is, that should give you a good idea where to be on price.

For both sides or whats called a set would weigh close to 300 pounds. Never saw any sold for near $300.
