hi folks, my 706 F-N-R shift lever snapped off the shaft just inside the transmission cover below the o-ring. Is this part available? Or what possible fix might work? I have not opened up the top or the side cover yet. I thought some one out there could steer me in the right direction thanks jim mcdade

you can get that shifter shaft . As far as welding it you would have to be dead on for everything to work . Pictures would be a big help since i can not see . If you are going to have to remove the top cover it is wise to remove the side cover plate so you cna catch the woodworf key on the rev shifter shaft as it comes out of the fork. When ya remove the side cover you will lose about a gallon of Hyd oil. and also and extra set of hands helps on this if you have never done one before . Whenya get it all back together i would recomend that you do a clutch adjustment along with the transmission brake and dump valve as i would guess that it is not shifting well and you are tugging on it to change gears. I can explain it to you later on the simpel way to do this.
