The M was running like a top. Brush hogging in 90 degree weather. I hit a log and sheared a pin on the mower. I turned off the tractor replaced the pin, but the tractor won't start. It turns over great. Hot shot into the carb doesn't get a pop. So I think it is electrical. Ammeter needle isn't moving --straight up. Dad thinks its over heated. I let it sit over an hour before trying to re-start . I think I'm not getting spark. Wires seem to be OK.Any ideas? It was running until I turned it off. Thank you.

Had the same problem with our "M". Discovered that a had a dead spot on the pull out switch. Haven't replaced the switch yet. For now I just turn or pull on the switch and it is good to go.

I was mowing my yard one day and my wife called me in to eat.Went back out after dinner and the mower wouldn't start.Put it on the back of my pick-up and drove 30 miles to a mechanic friends house and he looked at it then very humbly asked me if i forgot to turn the switch on,my face turned red and i looked like a idot with my mouth hanging wide open.Pulled the crank and it started

Sounds like the ignition coil to me, hot weather will do weak ones in.

Any time something like that happens theres 2 thing to check. Make sure it has gas out the drain plug and make sure you have spark. Its always the first thing to check and both are easy to do

Checked the gas line. I'll check spark at the plugs in the morning. I was hot and tired when it quit, with a walk back to the truck. Thanks.

I understand that. I always keep a crecent wrench or vise grips on my tractors so when they die I have a tool to figure out the problem. Most of the time with me its that I have run out of gas and the long walk back it no fun just to get gas. But thats better then other problems
