I was disassembling the carb, took the three screws out the hold the bowl to the base and tried to pull the two pieces apart but they would not seperate. I then (mistake) took a small hammer and lightly taped on the one side of the carb and it cam apart but I broke the centet piece that slips into the two pieces. Can this piece be purchased and how do I get the broken pices out without damaging anything else?

Thank you four help.
Carl from Michigan

Your question is how to get it out without breaking anything else. I assume that the top piece is out and the lower part of the venturi is sticking into the bottom half of the carb...

With stubborn pieces such as this, you do have to be real careful or you will tear something else up...I would apply heat to it and see if that will not loosten the corrosion between the aluminum and the iron casting...I have had success with broken off screws, plugs etc with heat on the carb.

Both pieces were stuck in each half. I did get them out without breaking anything else by taking a hack saw blade and cutting the pieces in half and then they came out with no problem.

Thanks for all the help you gave me.
Carl

Just did almost the same thing. Mine came apart in my hand. The only place I found that had them is Marks tractors. 25$. Very nice people to deal with. Dennys has them but I would NOT recomend buying from them. I dont have Marks number right now but he has an ad in Red Power.

You should be able to get one from Case/IH. Thats what is call the venturi by the way. If it was that same as the ones in the B carbs I would have one but I don't think it is. I do have a complete carb other then the choke flap and shaft.

That part is no longer serviced by Case-IH. It is specific to an H, no other tractors use the same venturi.

I really din't think the ones from a B carb would be the same but never hurts to put it out there and learn something new by doing so. Which in the case I did. LOL You never get to old to learn and if you do then you have big problems LOL or at least I think the person does.
