Finally got around to doing a tune up on my Super H. Took out the old WARDS plugs and put in champ D21"s. Ran fine for about 10 hours, then started to "run on" after i shut her down, even if I let her idle for 5 min. Pulled the plugs,(the look great) and put in auto 3116"s...after about 10 hours ,same thing! She runs like a bear and starts on the first rev. every time. Any ideas? I already threw out the old Wards plugs. Thanks Mike

Simple fix is to pull out the choke.

YOU CAN TRY THE TIMING.Or maybe lean her up just a tad. I have tryed almost every plug going and used to swear by champs with the mags but in the last couple years they have got real cheap so I went to the 3116s. Work great in my SM. I had the same problem untill I leaned her up a little I think. MM

When we shut our SMTA off, we just shift into 5 th gear with the clutch in, & wait until the engine is on it's last round or two, &then let out the clutch. Of course you will want to have the brakes applied. This method will stop the run-on problem. We've used this method for over 40 years & never had any problems.
