Hugh, This was a Kelly 3 point unit that my neighbor cut down from four row. I think he bought at a consignment auction for 300 bucks. He quit farming and gave it to me. I also got the super from him. I changed it from the 3 point so I could get closer. Besides, everytime you turn around to see how you are doing, you get cultivator blight. I did paint the A. I had almost no paint left when I got it. I experimented since I had never painted before. The H is next. Been in the family since new in 1945. I know it was last painted in the 60s.

Bruce: Nice crops you have there, and an excellent job on weed control.

Of course all I grow anymore is a garden. Marg. and I were out this morning before the sun got hot, tidying up the last of our weeding, "we hope". Needless to say my volumes dictate the old hand hoeing. We don't grow a lot of variety either, just what we cant get fresh at local markets. Sugar peas, green and yellow beans, onions, tomatoes, carrots, beets, cucumbers and hot peppers round out our list, and we have enough of that to do some trading. The guy I used to drive truck for is close by and he grows cabbage, sweet corn, broccoli, cauliflower and zichini. He loves sugar peas, beets and beans, keeps my bargaining power in order.

Bruce: Nice looking pair of tractors. I don't think they have ever been painted, thus kept well shedded while not in use.

I like your Lilliston rolling cultivators and the setup. I don't have a set of those. I have been planning on adding that to my cultivating equipment. I have run across a few 3 point 4 row units that one could harvest enough good parts for equiping a SA, but the owners didn't want to sell. I saw one at a consignment auction this spring. When the sale day came it was so damn cold, I'd decided an old fart like me was far better off by the fireside.

I contacted the Lilliston company, and advised I would be interested in buying new, 2 right and 2 left 5 wheel gangs. They advised me the dealer in the area would be contacting me. I guess he's not very hungry.
