What is the approximate value of a Farmall 404 narrow front? It is described as "running, but needs a little work" which makes me nervous. I haven't looked it over yet, and I don't know much about this model tractor - I have a 1948 AC WD that looks lonely under the shed. Any information on what 404s are worth, what to watch for, or any other helpful thoughts would be appreciated.

Just bought that same exact tractor this spring . Found it locally behind a barn and got it running before I made the deal. Gave 1600 for it and is good shape mechanically but needs cosmetic work and paint. They are a neat little tractor. I want to restore this one back to original and set it next to my 504 farmall which is all redone. 1100 sounds like a fair price to me. Migraine

What does the seller want for it? I have never really looked at one, but I believe it is the "replacement" for the 240. It has a C135 engine, a larger version of the C123, live hydraulics, PTO may or may not be live depending on when it was made. About 35 HP, 3400 lbs. Just another small tractor, no particular problems that I have heard of. "Needs a little work" could mean a couple of hundred, it could mean $3000.

The seller is asking $1100 with a 3pt bale spear and a 6' box blade. I was wondering what they were worth in good condition, so I could estimate what it would be safe to spend on it.

Where is the serial number located?

Thanks,
Adam Davis

$1100?? buy it. Parts are readily available, except for the sheet metal which will be hard to find. If it was anywhere near me I would buy it. I am not sure where the serial is on that tractor, Likely on a plate on the left or right side of the clutch housing. In good condition that tractor could bring in excess of $3000, someone else will know that. $1100 -- where is it?
