I got dad's old M running this weekend. Hadn't been run for about 10 years, as he never needed it, and it needed a battery and starter. Anyway cleaned the tank really good, by using some advice I had seen on earlier posts about putting in some diesel fuel and nuts bolts and spinning tank (did this by strapping to the rear rim of H and driving around) Put on a brand new/rebuilt carb from yesterdays tractors, changed all fluids. Tractor ran really good and carried 55 lbs of oil pressure even when warm. What a great surprise. Anyway, dad started pressure washing the tractor getting it cleaned up for further cleaning and eventually paint. Now I've got a terrible leak of coolant from the radiator. Seems to be coming from about mid-way up and on the fan side. The pressure washer he was using is just a home-owner grade cheap briggs unit, with limited force, but i'm guessing he shot a hole in the radiator. What's my best option? I don't want to spend much money on this tractor right now, too many other projects! Should I look for a salvage radiator or try to get this one fixed at a radiator shop?
HELP!
Thanks
DJL

When I redid my M I took the nonleaking radiator to the shop for cleaning. After it was cleaned out it was a seive. repairs costing in neighborhood of $320. Ending buying a new one from YT and now it really cools good. YT radiators come with everthing you need and are about 285.

I just had a leak repaired on my Super M radiator. Took it to a shop. They will be able to tell you if it's too far gone to fix. Make sure that they pressure test it AFTER they are done with all repairs, cleaning and fin straightening (the kid at this shop straightened the fins after testing it and put another hole in it, which wasn't found until after I got it back on the tractor!). Repair cost me $100.00. but could run more or less. I wouldn't pay more than $150.00 to have it repaired. That's pretty much the "tipping point" towards buying a new one.

I'd take the radiator out and look it over. If it looks good I'd have it repaired at a reputable radiator shop, if there is such a place. I would not put any kind of stop leak in it. Dave.
