Teddy,Just took my bolster apart and found it seased up on the bottom, also suprised me there were no bearings. The bolts that hold the front axel on are draging the bottom of the tractor frame,i guess my bolster or the bottom of my shaft is worn, maybe i could use shorter headed bolts or take every thing to the machine shop and have it built up. if you have any thoughts give me a email or call 304-725-1037

Just looked at mine today. It has about 1/4 inch between the top of the bolts and the bottom of the casting. This should bring the worm gear close to the center of the steering gear.

If it was mine, I would turn out a thrust bushing on the lathe to take up the slack. If you don't have a lathe, have a machine shop do it.
