I've got a Carter UT 652 carburator on my 1950 model C Farmall. I would like to get a carburator kit with gaskets, jets, air/fuel mixture screw, etc. Any suggestions? thanks bill

Bill, I would buy a good kit from the dealer. As important is to clean the old carb really well every small passage to remove all dirt. This will give good results. Put a quality kit in a dirty carb will give poor results. Good luck.

Consistent with your suggestion, I have cleaned the carburater in a blasting cabinet and it looks brand new. But, I can't find a kit from a dealer (?) - the number on the brass tab is unreadable - all I have is the "Carter UT 652" on the housing to try and find a kit. Any suggestions as to who (dealers or who ever) to contact and get the right kit for my carb would be appreciated. thanks, bill

You had better clean that carb good, if you used sand (or anything else) it is probably plugged. Blow it out with compressed air, and try to feel the air coming out somewhere else for each hole or port you try. There is probably only one model of Carter carb for that tractor, at least that was true for the C. So with no parts manual, it is on your dealers computer. If you don't have one close by, call Carter and Gruenwald 888-327-6255, you will have it in less than a week.

Do you think you might have some trouble with the grit in the passages? :-)
