Need some advice. Want to remove H gas tank. What's best way to get her off while moving/disconnecting as few other parts as possible? Don't want to make extra work for myself if I can avoid it. Thanks.

After you remove the nuts and springs, try to unscrew the studs from the bottom of the gas tank using a small pipe wrench. If, and only if, the studs come loose without excessive force on the pipe wrench, disconnect the fuel line and remove the fuel bowl. You can then slide the tank off the supports to the tractor’s right side. No need to disconnect the steering shaft.

More good advice, but if you use a pipe wrench, or vice-grips on those studs, you will be looking for some new studs, which is not a bad idea either.

Get a can of PB Blaster, use liberally on the three long bolts (those with the springs on them), wait a day or two for the PB to work, while you keep the bolts below the nuts wet w/PB. Remove the cotter pins & loosen the nuts while you pray that they do not twist out the sockets where they are soldered into the tank. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

You will need to remove the hood, disconnect the fuel line, and remove the battery and battery box. You will also need to separate the steering shaft at the U-joint, loosen the locking collars where the shaft goes through the support, and slide the shaft towards the rear until it is out of your way. Then you can remove the gas tank.
