I have a farmall c. Rebuilt the engine, got it back together, and started it up.It makes a clunking noise from the clutch housing. Now, when i assembled the clutch i did not use an alignment tool. Could that be the problem?the clutch is not align? thanks george

Forgot to say one other thing you may have done was put the disc in backwards and that will also cause you that problem

Andy sounds like hes on the right track. Flywheel loose preassure plate loose or you broke something putting it back togeather. I have never been able to get and engine back into any thing with out useing a clutch aliment tool of some sort since they have to be right on the money to go back togeather. So much as a 1/16 of and inch off and parts will brake

The clutch alignemnt tool just helps you get it together. Unless you broke something forcing the tractor together, I suspect you left the flywheel bolts loose. Pull the starter and see if you can wiggle the flywheel.
